These awards are instituted to recognise and honour the exemplary work of Chartered Accountants in Industry interspersed with Bollywood and television based music and entertainment programmes which will mark the grand finale of these high profile concurrent events.

OBJECTIVES
To recognize Chartered Accountants in Industry who have demonstrated excellence in the way in which they conduct their professional lives.
To acknowledge Chartered Accountants who are exemplary role models in the industry.
To acknowledge Chartered Accountants who have created value to their company's stakeholders on sustainable basis.
AWARDS CATEGORIES:
CA Business Leader – Corporate - This Category is for CEOs/Directors (or individuals holding equivalent positions in their organisation) of large enterprises in public or private sectors. As an indicator enterprise with annual turnover in excess of Rs. 500 crores and/or more than 100 full time employees should be considered as a Corporate
• CA Business Leader – SME - This Category is for CEOs/Directors (or individuals holding equivalent positions in their organisation) of medium / small enterprises mostly in private sector.
• CA Young Leader
Male / Female - This category would acknowledge many young and innovative managers who have attained a senior management or leadership position. All nominations received for above awards in respect of professionals with age of 35 years or younger would be classified under this category by default.
• CA Professional Manager
Private Sector - This category would recognize professionals in senior management capacity in private sectors. This includes positions such as CFOs, Audit & Risk Heads and Business Vertical Heads.
• CA Professional Manager
Public Sector / Government Sector - This category would recognize professionals in senior management capacity in public sector. The persons who have had successful careers in Govt. Department of Civil Services, NGOs and other forms of public / government service would also be considered under this category.
• CA Professional Manager — International This category would recognize professionals who have been successful in International environment and are currently working in overseas organizations. People who are settled abroad would also be eligible under this category.
CATEGORY CRITERIA
CA BUSINESS LEADER — CORPORATE / SME

The nominees would be judged on the basis of following criteria. Individual rating would be assigned on a scale of 0-10.

Visionary Leadership

¤ Encourages and develops leadership among subordinates
¤ Has developed a clear succession planning for the organization
¤ Inspires, shares and develops a vision for the organization

Innovation

¤ Has been responsible for pioneering improved ways in doing business
¤ Has encouraged subordinates with new ideas and experiments
¤ Allocates sufficient resources towards focused research and development
¤ Developed benchmark practices in the industry in which the enterprise operates

Best Practices

¤ Uses / Develops cutting edge technology in business processes
¤ Focus on managing quality and maintaining those standards
¤ Strong relationship with stakeholders in the business
¤ High ethical and professional standards
¤ High degree of transparency in operations and financial information
¤ Demonstrate sound and leading application of Corporate Governance principles and accountability towards
shareholders
¤ Track record of regulatory/legal compliance
¤ Enjoys high amount of shareholder confidence

Contribution to Community

¤ Supports social causes such as charities, professional events and business events
¤ Involves the organisation in events of Local / National / International importance
¤ High awareness of Social Responsibility issues such as environment, safety, labour

¤ Professional trainings/certifications apart from Chartered Accountancy
¤ Personal milestones/awards
¤ Number of years of experience as a leader
¤ Financial performance of the organization after assuming position

CA YOUNG LEADER — MALE AND FEMALE

This award would be reserved for nominations received for age of 35 years or below as on recent March 31. The criteria used for evaluating the nominations would be similar to above awards.

CA PROFESSIONAL MANAGER

This category would recognize professionals in senior management capacity in both public and private sectors including those working overseas or settled abroad. This includes positions such as CFOs, Audit & Risk Heads and Business Vertical Heads. Following are the criteria for judging for this award.

Personal and Professional Qualities ¤ Integrity, measured as number of years of continuous service to an organization
¤ People Management, ability to manage people, control rate of attrition and maintain high morale of finance
professionals
¤ Confidence, enjoyed by the stakeholders in the person and the company
¤ Innovation, ability to transform and shape the financial performance of the entity
Knowledge and Experience ¤ Thorough knowledge of the matters related to corporate regulatory and reporting requirements
¤ Number of years of experience in Finance function
¤ Professional trainings, certifications and recognitions held
Track Record and Accomplishments ¤ Significant milestones such as handing listing of the shares, mergers and amalgamations, corporate restructuring, right issues, business turnarounds
¤ Sustained financial performance of enterprise since assuming position
¤ Ability to implement best practices and develop new best practices

AWARDS PROCESS

Stage 1 Inviting Nominations

An administrative committee comprising of members shall be formed for having an oversight on the awards process. An elite panel of judges shall be formed for the purpose of judging final awards.

 

Nominations would be invited from following bodies:

 

1. Chartered Accountants Members in Practice
2. Listed Companies
3. Members of Audit Committees of select companies
4. Select Mutual Funds
5. Any other individual / entity, which the administrative committee formed for this purpose may deem fit.

Exclusions from these criteria can be made by the administrative committee based on appropriate judgements. Details of entities / individuals participating in the nomination process should be available for review.

Stage 2 Short Listing

The administrative committee shall shortlist the applicants to be forwarded to the elite panel who will progress to the Final round. Short listing shall be based on aggregate of scores and list of top 50 scorers shall be evaluated. Decisions regarding short listing by the committee would be treated as final. Final List of 10 nominations shall be published as likely award winners.
A reputed CA Firm shall also be appointed to oversee the process adherence.

Stage 3 Final Judging

The judging panel would consider the criteria for short listing by the committee and also conduct personal interviews with the finalists, if required. The judges will determine the winner of each category based on these results.

The final judging panel shall consist of people with high recognition in the Indian industry. However, these people shall not be eligible to get nominated for these awards, nor would they provide any votes for nominations. The elite judge panel should ideally include Leading Businessmen, Academicians, Heads of universities, Past President of ICAI, some select representatives from the Council, women representatives.

NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS

 

 NOMINATION GUIDELINES

• A duly filled nomination form in duplicate

• A resume of the nominee with two passport sized photographs

• A brief description of the nominee's organisation, including description of products, services and overall strategic goals as details of why he should be considered for the award for which he is nominated.

• A description of nominee's success and achievements during the year

• Copies of the company's latest annual report

• Copy of the company's organisation chart

• Declaration of regulatory action or material financial re-statements transpired during his tenure. This disclosure does not necessarily disqualify a nominee

• Statement of personal / social activities of the nominees

• Details of memberships of other professional / social bodies

• Details of other roles, e.g. directorships of other companies, member of audit committees etc. of the nominee

• Awards/Recognitions received by the nominee during the year, with copies/ photographs of the trophies, certificates etc.

• Information about the nominator and membership number if applicable.

 

No member of administrative committee, process auditors and the elite panel can nominate a representative

• Nominations would be given only for members of Institute

• Nominations would be given by persons with at least one professional qualification in the field Accountancy, Taxation, Company Laws or with a Management Degree from a reputed institute. This establishes credibility of nominations

• Nominations would be given only for members in industry

• Nominations for independent directorships are not acceptable

• The minimum period of service in current employment should be at least 1 year

• A person who has won award in any one category cannot be nominated again for the same category for another two years

• Administrative committee reserves its right to verify the credentials submitted for these awards

Multiple nominations would be ignored

• Administrative committee reserves its right to reject nominations without providing reasons therefor
